Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are excited to continue our commitment to excellence in the San Gabriel Unified School District, where we strive to equip our students with the skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century. SGUSD focuses on six key competencies for our students, called a Portrait of a Graduate, which are collaboration, communication, empathy, global citizenship, resiliency, and creative thinking.
In addition to these competencies, we are proud to offer robust programs that further enhance our students' educational experience. Our Dual Language Immersion Program, available in Mandarin and Spanish, helps students achieve biliteracy, reach high levels of academic achievement in two languages, and become cross-cultural ambassadors.
Furthermore, our Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) programs are dedicated to ensuring that high-quality arts education is accessible to all students. From speech and debate to ceramics, choir to drama, and graphic design to music appreciation and production technology, we believe arts education enhances our district's goal of developing well-rounded, artistically literate graduates.
Our mission, in partnership with the community, is to prepare students for their future as productive citizens and lifelong learners. We are committed to a balanced curriculum, supportive programs and practices, and an environment that encourages students to reach their maximum potential.
SGUSD is defined by our focus on innovative learning and nurturing our students' social-emotional well-being. Our dedicated faculty exemplifies this commitment through their daily work with students, fostering an environment where excellence and the nurturing of the whole student are paramount. Our students are well-prepared to compete academically at the next level and are committed to making our world more tolerant and inclusive for future generations.
