This year, our district's focus is on bringing that Portrait to life in every classroom, at every grade level.
What is the Portrait of a Graduate?
The Portrait of a Graduate is more than just a vision; it’s our commitment to ensuring that every student leaves our schools equipped not only with academic knowledge but also with the critical skills required to thrive in life beyond the classroom. These competencies include resilience, empathy, global citizenry, creativity, communication, and collaboration. These are the qualities that will empower our students to navigate challenges, build meaningful relationships, and contribute positively to their communities.
Putting the Portrait into Practice
This year, we are taking significant steps to integrate these competencies into our daily instruction across all core content areas, from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Our teachers are committed to embedding the Portrait of a Graduate into their lesson plans and classroom activities, ensuring that students not only understand these concepts but also apply them in meaningful ways.
We are excited to Partner with you on this journey! Throughout the year, you will receive updates on how the Portrait of a Graduate is being implemented in our schools and the impact it is having on our students.
